📝 Document Mode Guide

Document Mode is a specialized workspace for generating long-form, professional documentation, academic papers, and reports.

Document Mode Reference

Document Mode is a specialized workspace engineered for the synthesis of long-form technical documentation, academic research papers, and comprehensive reports.

Initialization

To initiate a Document Mode session, execute:

python helsecli.py document

Synthesis Pipeline

Document Mode utilizes a structured, multi-phase pipeline to ensure technical rigor and contextual consistency.

1. Configuration Phase

Upon initialization, the system requires the following parameters:

  • Document Classification: (e.g., Academic Paper, Technical Specification, Report).
  • Export Format: (Markdown, DOCX, PDF).
  • Target Word Range: (e.g., 3000–5000 words).
  • Research Integration: Toggle for external data retrieval.
  • Visual Presentation: (Modern, Classic, Minimal).

2. Strategic Planning Phase

The AI assistant synthesizes a "Task Chain" — a structured manifest of chapters and technical sections required to achieve the document objective.

3. Data Acquisition and Synthesis Phase

The system executes the task chain sequentially. If research is enabled, autonomous tools retrieve and prioritize web-based data for each section prior to generation. This modular approach enables HelseCLI to generate documents that exceed traditional LLM output constraints.

4. Compilation and Export Phase

Following the completion of all sections, the system performs a final assembly, merging components and applying the requested formatting via Pandoc where required.

Scholarly Referencing

HelseCLI supports 24 standardized citation formats for academic and technical synthesis.

  1. Select Academic Paper as the document classification.
  2. Define the preferred referencing standard (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago, IEEE, Harvard).
  3. The system automatically formats in-text citations and the final bibliography in accordance with the selected standard.

Technical Configuration Example

Objective: "Analysis of Distributed Ledger Technology in Sustainable Supply Chain Logistics"

Configuration Parameters:

  • Classification: Academic Paper
  • Reference Standard: IEEE
  • Target Length: 4000 words
  • Format: PDF
  • Research Integration: Active

Supported Output Formats

  • Markdown (.md): Standardized documentation format suitable for version control systems.
  • Microsoft Word (.docx): Professional format for collaborative review and editing.
  • Portable Document Format (.pdf): Optimized for final submission and distribution (Requires Pandoc).

Implementation Best Practices

  • Strategic Research Integration: Enable web research for objectives requiring current statistical data or contemporary academic citations.
  • Architectural Review: Inspect the generated task chain prior to the synthesis phase. Feedback can be provided the AI to adjust the document scope.
  • Voice and Tone Specification: Explicitly define the required linguistic tone (e.g., "maintain a formal, objective, and technical tone") within the document objective.
